This series is based on the old structures of Mumbai.
Pooja explores the layered stories of urban architecture-aged walls, windows, and
surfaces-along with the memories and experiences of the people who inhabit these spaces.

Pooja Shinde is a Mumbai based artist whose practice spans Printmaking and painting. Her practice centres around etching as a medium to explore the layered narratives of urban architecture.
Drawing from the philosophy of Wabi Sabi, her work embraces transience, decay and the quiet beauty of imperfection. Pooja Shinde is a visual artist based in Mumbai, India. She holds a BFA in Painting and an MFA in Printmaking from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. Her practice primarily engages with printmaking, often expanding into installation-based works. Her work has been exhibited widely across India and internationally. She is a recipient of the Young Artist Scholarship in Visual Arts from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She has also received the Emerging Artists Grant from Kalanand, the Art2Foundation Grant (USA), and the Manorama Young Printmaker Award from Indian Printmaker House. Her work has also been featured in Art to Hearts Magazine. She currently lives and practices in Mumbai.
